RECYCLABLES (Any Recyclables Placed in Plastic Bags Will be Considered Contaminated and Thrown in the Garbage)

GLASS
Accepted:
- Clear, brown and green. Please rinse.
Not Accepted:
- NO drinking glasses, Pyrex dishware, window glass, ceramics, mirrors, medical bottles or incandescent lights
- NO Compact Fluorescent & tube bulbs (can be recycled https://www.batteriesplus.com/recycling)
METAL
Accepted:
- Empty aerosol cans & license plates
- Metal food & beverage containers. Please rinse & flatten to reduce volume.
- Copper (see outside attendant)
- Steel (see outside attendant)
- Aluminum (see outside attendant)
- Metal appliances (excluding refrigerators)
- Kitchen Knives - please keep separate and hand to the attendant
Not Accepted:
- NO propane, butane, helium tanks or gas tanks
- NO pesticide containers of any type
PLASTICS
Accepted:
- Bottles, jugs, blown plastics such as laundry, juice, milk, and yogurt containers. Please rinse & flatten to reduce volume.
- THERMOFORM Plastic (plastic used for fruits, vegetables, and takeout containers)
Not Accepted:
- NO STYROFOAM, 5-gallon pails, stretch film, plastic toys, laundry baskets or furniture, motor oil or antifreeze containers, hangers or plastic bags (can be recycled at Wegmans’ stores).
PAPER & CARDBOARD
Accepted:
- Newspapers & inserts, MUST be dry and not bundled
- Boxboard (cereal boxes, etc.)
- Corrugated cardboard with ridges, MUST be reduced to maximum size of 4’ X 4’
- Brown paper bags
- Junk mail, magazines & catalogs
- Shredded paper IN BAGS
- Office paper including colored/white, computer, post-its, glossy paper, NCR paper, construction paper, blueprint paper, soft-cover books, poster board, file folders & envelopes
Not Accepted:
- NO tissues, toilet paper & paper towels
- NO metallic paper or carbon paper
NON-RECYCLABLES
HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE
Accepted:
Waste
- In plastic bags OR
- In unsealed brown paper bags OR
- In containers with loose trash OR
- In unsealed grocery store plastic bags
- Each bag or receptacle shall NOT exceed 75 lbs.
Not Accepted:
- NO household hazardous waste

- Recycled through Natural Upcycling (may purchase an Organics Permit only)
- Educational materials are available for anyone interested in at home composting
MISCELLANEOUS
Accepted:
- Scrap metal (clean and separated – see outside attendant)
- Ashes must be placed in designated bin (see attendant)
- Lawn clippings, leaves, etc.
- Small amounts of remodeling debris (with a punch card)
- Used motor oil
- Batteries (all types EXCEPT car/vehicle/equipment)
- Kitchen Knives - please keep separate and hand to the attendant
Not Accepted:
- NO Tires

- NO smoke or carbon monoxide detectors - Check with manufacturer for take-back programs / Look for Ontario County Electronic Waste Recycling Events-FREE / EWaste+ will accept, but for a fee.
