Dear Harlan Fisher Park "Dog Park" Patrons,
I hope that this note finds you well. While it's been a rather wet spring that has challenged our parks mowing crew and youth sports leagues, we are thinking good thoughts about drier days to come this summer!
I would like to give you a heads-up about the upcoming start of construction on our Phase II portion of Harlan Fisher Park. The Phase II plan of improvements include a "new" (22) space parking area (freshly paved!), a sidewalk connection to the existing sidewalk at the off-leash dog park, a sidewalk connection to the existing sidewalk on Lynaugh Road, a widened entry-drive to the park, drainage and landscaping. The project is slated to start in mid-June and continue throughout the summer months.
There will be delays and intermittent closures of the parking area and entry drive when we bring materials and equipment to the site, install drainage structures and pave the "new" parking area and driveway. We have established a small, temporary gravel parking area at the eastern end of East Parkway, which is on the opposite side of the park from the dog park. This will require a little longer stroll to the dog park, so plan accordingly with your pooch.
Should you choose to use this temporary parking area while visiting the dog park, we ask that you keep vehicles in the designated area and not block neighboring driveways, the fire hydrant or street. Thanks in advance for pardoning our progress! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at (585) 742-0141 or Email Brian Emelson.
Sincerely,
Brian C. Emelson, CPRE, Director of Parks and Recreation
