The dissolution decision was made by the Board of Fire Commissioners for reasons outlined in the “Fishers Fire District Board Considerations for Potential Dissolution” document which can be found on the Fishers Fire District website at https://www.fishersfd.org/
This decision was made in compliance with New York State General Municipal Law, Section 774.

Yes. The Town of Victor has secured formal agreements with nearby fire departments and EMS providers to ensure there will be no lapse in emergency coverage.

Depending on your location, response may come from:
- Victor Farmington Ambulance (EMS)
- Victor Fire District
- Fishers Volunteer Firefighters Association
- Bushnells Basin Fire Department
- Henrietta Fire District
- Farmington Volunteer Fire Department
- Ontario County Emergency Management (support during major incidents)
The Ontario County 911 Center will automatically dispatch the closest available unit to your location.

Our goal is to maintain current response times. While some calls may experience the same or slightly longer arrival times, we are working with partner agencies to ensure that resources are positioned and dispatched as efficiently as possible. Continuous monitoring will help us make adjustments to keep service levels high.

No. Continue to call 911 for all emergencies. The 911 center has updated its system to reflect the new coverage areas.

Assets will be handled according to New York State law:
- Some equipment may be transferred to the Town or to partner agencies for continued use.
- Real estate may be repurposed, sold, or leased based on Town Board decisions.

Your property tax bill will no longer include the Fishers Fire District levy. However, the Town will fund fire protection and EMS services through contracts with partner agencies. The overall change to individual tax bills will be communicated in the annual budget process.
