Help Prevent Pollution and Wildfires

Open burning is the single greatest cause of wildfires in NYS. To report a wildfire, call 1-833-NYS-RANGERS (1-833-697-7264). 

When you plan a fire, always check for fire danger in your area on DEC's online map (updated every week). 

Also, local governments may have stricter rules than NYS; your fire department will have information about local burning laws.

Planning & Zoning Fraud Targeting NY Municipalities

A nation wide email scam targeting applicants before planning and zoning boards has officially reached New York. Scammers are exploiting public information to defraud local residents and developers of thousands of dollars. Recent incidents have been reported across the country.

The Town of Victor will never request payment via email links or wire transfer.

• Payments must be made in person at the Town Hall or by mail.
• If you are unsure, please contact the Town Clerk's office at 585-742-5080 to check.
